There was a great moment for the club 3 weeks ago as Marley Shachar of the Boys U16 team became the first junior player at the club this season to make the step-up to the Senior team, playing the second half for the Men’s Reserves away to league leaders Aspendale.
Marley started playing soccer at an early age attending Little Kickers from the age of 4 and after some time with Rosebud and then Mount
Martha soccer clubs found his team and a home despite the distance he has to travel from Rye. Marley joined the club in 2019 at U12 level
and is now into his 5th season with us.
Marley's Dad believes being part of such a supportive club has helped Marley become a confident player, winning his team's best and fairest award last season having impressed over the last few seasons.
He’s been supported by a variety of people across the club and is looking forward to continuing to grow with the club. He even encouraged
his younger brother Artie to join the club last season. Well done, Marley!
Below Marley receives his Best and Fairest award from his junior coach Rob Appleby.
