18 year old Cohan King made his Senior Men’s starting debut today for Mount Eliza Soccer Club against Pakenham United, and impressed across the 90 minutes to earn Player of the Match.
Having started the State League season in the Reserves squad then missing a chunk of matches due to a collarbone injury, Cohan is a great
example of when the right attitude and willingness to improve as a player can result in a senior team call up.
Senior Men’s coach Bryce Ruthven said ‘I’ve been impressed with Cohan since bringing him into the Senior squad. He’s very coachable and
brings a lot of energy which suits the way we like to play. I wasn’t surprised with how Cohan played today as I’ve seen it on the training
pitch for the past few weeks and his start was well deserved’.
Cohan capped off his Senior starting debut by slotting away a penalty in the 91st minute of the Senior Men’s 5-2 win over Pakenham United,
and was tormenting his defender throughout the game where he created many chances and could have had a few more goals next to his name.
Congratulations to Cohan King, we look forward to watching your development of the remainder of the 2023 State League season!
